Spinning off the wheel!

Yesterday I finished up two spins – it was a proper plying party! I finished my Sara’s Texture Crafts polwarth.

I got about 290 yards of 2ply and then had a bit left so I’ve got a miniskein of nply too. I can’t decide which one I like more! Then my overdyed John Arbon fibre sample. This was a blend of alpaca, polwarth and merino d’arles.

I got 120 yards Navajo plied, which I think will be bulky weight yarn. I was really pleased with how it drafted, and I’m really looking forward to spinning up the other fibre I dyed.

I finished spinning my Sara’s Texture Crafts polwarth singles today, and I think they’re looking good so I’m looking forward to plying them in the week.

And this evening I started spinning some of my John Arbon fibre – I’ll need to crack on with that if I’m going to get it finished by next weekend, and my mill trip! I’m aiming for a slightly thicker yarn with that fibre though, but it’s drafting beautifully at the moment, it’s quite hard not to spin it very finely!
